Dr. Majid Sadeghpour
Dr. Majid Sadeghpour is a leading human rights activist particularly in the Iranian human rights movement and serves as the political director for the Organization of Iranian-American Communities (OIAC). After the 1979 revolution in Iran, his family was persecuted and his brother ultimately executed. He escaped Iran and has since been an active opponent of the Islamist government in Iran writing extensively on Iran and appearing in both national and international television, radio and online programs. Dr. Sadeghpour will discuss the current situation in Iran including the growing protests from Iranians representing all levels of society, as well as the prospects for democratic change in Iran, and how the free world should respond to the current situation.
